As we look to improve our lives, the lives of our children, and the lives of our grandchildren, we know that education is the key to success. On the road to that coveted degree we are faced with challenging expenses for tuition, room and board, and books. The 91st Division League is offering a $5000 scholarship in 2026 to help our soldiers or their descendants achieve that coveted educational goal.
2026 91st Infantry Division League Scholarship Application
The 2026 91st Infantry Division League Scholarship is available for all interested applicants. This application is for the Academic Year Ending June 2026 and the completed application must be submitted no later than April 11, 2026. DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION HERE
The intent of the 91st Infantry Division League Scholarship is to assist current or former soldiers of the 91st Division and/or immediate relatives or descendants of 91st Division soldiers in their pursuit of higher education by awarding a nominal competitive scholarship. The amount of the Scholarship Award for the academic year ending in June 2026 is $5000. Eligibility for the Scholarship Award must be for continued education at an accredited educational institution.
The successful applicant for the League’s annual scholarship will have completed all requirements of the 2026 Scholarship Application Packet, to include:

- Packet Contents Check-Off List (Page 2)
- Eligibility Criteria (Page 3)
- School Activities, Community Activities, and Leadership Positions Held (Page 4)
- Character and Leadership Recommendation (Page 5) from a teacher, counselor, community leader, or someone whose life you have impacted.
- Essay #1 on “How the Army Values Will Influence My Growth as a Citizen”(Page 6)
- Essay #2 on “How My Education Will be Funded” (Page 7)
- Latest School Transcript (Attach to packet)
This packet must be completed by the Applicant and submitted to the 91st Infantry Division League Scholarship Committee via electronic communication through the League’s website prior to the cut-off date listed above. PLEASE SCAN THE ENTIRE COMPLETED PACKET AND E-MAIL TO: divisionleague@yahoo.com. Completed packets not received by the stated cut-off date for the year of the Award will not be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to comply with the requirements of his/her packet and to ensure that all pages and latest school transcript are submitted.

2025 91st Infantry Division League Scholarship Awarded to Charlie Bergstrom

Charlie is completing prerequisites at Tacoma Community College and plans to enroll at the University of Washington to complete his BS in pre-med before applying to med school. 2024 91st Infantry Division League Scholarship Awarded to Jett Henderson
On Monday, 24 June 2024, COL Jim Bonato, Chair of the Scholarship Committee and MG Dan Balough presented Jett with the League scholarship certificate and a $5000 check on the steps of the California State Capitol. It was a warm but pleasant evening in the River City for the short but evocative ceremony. Also, present were Jett’s great grandfather and his grandparents CSM Art and Laura Moore.
Jett hopes to pursue a career in astro or particle physics. He is a well spoken and truly engaging young man. A true renaissance personality he is also a gifted artist. The League and its members wish Jett all the best and much success in all his future endeavors.
